NAC vs EU: 24 games, 2,378 eliminations, and an eight-frag margin
The ELITE data desk parsed every server-side replay from both Grand Finals lobbies — 12 NAC games, 12 EU games, 2,378 eliminations. The regions finished eight frags apart. Everything else about how they play is different.
The short version
Which region is better? On raw output, neither: across the FNCS 2026 Major 2 Grand Finals (August 1–2), EU out-fragged NAC by just 8 eliminations of 2,378 — 1,193 vs 1,185 — and the game-by-game frag battle finished 5-5 with 2 ties. The real gap is style: EU third-parties more (15.0% vs 12.9%), fights a meter closer (6.4m vs 7.2m median finish), and let one duo win 4 of 12 games, while NAC crowned 11 different winners in 12 games.

The frag battle: eight eliminations in 2,378
Twelve games per region, 50 duos per lobby, and the two totals landed almost on top of each other: EU 1,193 eliminations, NAC 1,185 — 99.4 versus 98.8 per game. Game by game the frag battle split 5 wins apiece with 2 ties. Damage tells the same story with the same winner: EU lobbies dealt 397,755 net damage to NAC's 384,409. If you wanted this weekend to settle the region war on volume, it refused.
Where the regions separate is texture, not totals. NAC owns the individual peaks: falcon pollo 10ǃ posted the weekend's biggest damage number, 10,814 (901 per game), DIG VicterV hit 10,420 including the single largest game anyone played — 1,950 damage in NAC Game 10 — and the top of the elim board is NAC territory: GEN aj's 27 led every player, with KoS Curve and XSET veno5x at 21. EU's best damage dealer, AUR shxrk 19ǃ, finished at 9,251 — yet EU still won both team totals. NAC spikes; EU spreads.
Range splits them too. Of 1,524 measured PvP finishes, 80% happened inside 25 meters — but EU's median finish was 6.4m to NAC's 7.2m. Nearly a meter closer per fight, multiplied over a thousand finishes, is a genuinely different meta: EU closes to point-blank before it pulls the trigger. Full lobby-by-lobby breakdowns live in the NAC deep dive and the EU deep dive.

Winner variety: NAC spreads it, EU stacks it
Here is the widest stylistic gap of the weekend. NAC crowned 11 distinct winning duos in 12 games — only XSET Muz 7ǃ + DT Rise doubled up (Games 3 and 8). EU crowned 6, and AG Scroll 10ǃ + AG Sky. took 4 of the 12 on their way to the EU title: 732 series points, 54 eliminations, 8.0 average placement. That 732 is the highest series score either region produced.
NAC's champions won differently. twis acorn + twis boltzZzero0 took the region with 617 points on a single victory — 47 eliminations and a 9.0 average placement, a consistency title in a lobby where anyone could win the next game. GEN aj + XSET veno5x finished third on 561 with a NAC-most 64 team elims. Competitively this matters: EU's Grand Finals had a solved endgame with a dominant duo to beat; NAC's was an open market where 11 different teams cashed a win. Neither is "better" — but they demand different preparation.

Who steals more? EU runs the third-party economy
We tracked every enemy-knock conversion with revive-awareness: 1,181 of them across the weekend, of which 165 were finished by a team that didn't get the knock — 14%. Split by region, the stereotype survives contact with the data: EU stole 15.0% of its conversions (89 of 594) against NAC's 12.9% (76 of 587). The weekend's most prolific vulture was EU's XP42 frxstyyǃ with 5 stolen finishes.
A two-point gap sounds small until you play in it. In EU, roughly one knock in seven becomes someone else's refresh — so committing two players to convert a down is a tax you pay in exposure. That pressure compounds in endgames and shapes everything from surge play to when you burn a reboot. It is the single best statistical answer to "what actually feels different about EU?"

Same game, different islands
Zone pacing is on rails — the same 11-phase radius ladder ran in all 24 games, with lock-to-lock gaps identical to within 0.1 seconds — so any difference in where endgames happened is pure draw. And the draws could not have been less alike: NAC's zone-5s stacked dead-center of the island; EU's scattered island-wide. Put all 24 on one map (the hero image above) and the two regions look like they played different seasons.
The scatter had a price. Measuring "storm tax" — meters caught outside each freshly locked zone from phase 3 on — 4 of the 5 most-taxed duos of the weekend were EU. GodL Flickzy + GodL Chap paid 1,052 meters per game (12.6 km across the series), while NAC's luckiest duo, CVX 2XBellyBoss + DIG OliverOG, paid 42 meters per game. Longer, less predictable rotations also mean more teams crossing each other mid-move — a plausible feeder for EU's higher steal rate. The full circle-by-circle autopsy, including which POIs never hosted an endgame, is in the zones and map analysis.

Same drop, two stories: the Shaken Sanctuary split-screen
The best NAC-vs-EU experiment of the weekend wasn't designed by anyone — it just happened. Two duos, one in each region, dropped the same ~15-meter patch of Shaken Sanctuary in all 12 of their games: Elite EomzoӜ + elite josh 19ǃ in NAC, Fredoxie0452 + M8 MariusCOW in EU. Both were contested every single game. Same POI, same loot, same zone ladder — a controlled experiment in what a drop is actually worth.
Even the contests rhymed differently. In NAC, Twis Rаpidǃ + xset clix 1x. shared the POI with Eomzo and Josh for all 12 games and the two duos recorded zero finishes on each other — a 12-game truce, two teams silently agreeing that fighting at the spawn was the only losing play. In EU, havok woxshter + kiiro1k- actually fought Fredoxie and Marius, and split it 1-1 across the weekend.
The outcomes were not close. Eomzo and Josh: 509 points, 14.3 average placement, 48 team eliminations, 11,754 damage, and a Victory Royale in Game 7 with 11 elims. Fredoxie and Marius: 150 points, 26.3 average placement, 21 elims, 8,129 damage, no wins, best finish 15th — and they died mid-game in all 12 games. From the same dirt, one duo built a top-tier NAC series and the other built the quietest weekend in their lobby.
The replay traces explain it. Eomzo and Josh's real home was a forward camp 250 meters outside the POI — their median time at Shaken Sanctuary was 4:44 to Fredoxie and Marius's 7:15, their landing spread a disciplined ±11m to ±39m, and their best games (the Game 7 win included) came when they left fastest. Fredoxie and Marius's two best games — both 15ths — were the ones where the zone let them stay home. The lesson generalizes to every lobby you'll ever play: the drop isn't the strategy; the exit is. If you want to plan yours, our free ELITE drops map is built for exactly this.

Finals are a different game — in both regions
Set the whole weekend against a season baseline — 42 Season 41 Division 1 finals games — and NAC and EU converge on the same truth. Fight volume barely moves: 64.6 direct finishes per game versus 63.6 in the season sample. But the shape of the fights transforms: Grand Finals produced 3.8× more finishes from beyond 100 meters (1.71 vs 0.45 per game), double the share of 50m+ finishes (9.3% vs 4.6%), and a 90th-percentile finish distance up 47% (47m vs 32m).
In other words: finals lobbies don't fight more, they finish longer. Beam-range discipline — taking the 100-meter shot on a rotating team instead of waiting for the box fight — is a finals skill both regions turned up in equal measure, all the way out to the weekend's longest finish, a 445-meter shot by NAC's cyn kxyin 23. Every stat from every angle, both regions, lives in the Grand Finals stats hub.

The verdict
Eight eliminations out of 2,378 is not a gap; it's a rounding error. What the replays actually settle is the character question. EU plays closer, steals more, survived crueler zones, and produced the weekend's single best duo in AG Scroll 10ǃ + AG Sky. NAC plays a touch longer, spikes harder at the individual level — GEN aj's 27 elims, pollo's 10,814 damage — and ran the most open lobby a Grand Finals has any right to have: 11 winners in 12 games. Pick your definition of "better" and either region will happily claim it.
How we measured this
Every stat here was parsed from Epic's public server-side tournament replays by the ELITE data desk — movement traces, zone telemetry, the kill feed, and a replay-derived damage model. Players are tracked by account id, because display names change mid-event. Kill-feed ordering is reliable but carries no clock times. As a sanity check, our computed series points were verified against Epic's official leaderboard and matched for all 100 duos.
