Map guide Chapter 7 Season 4: Override · patch v42.00

The Fortnite Override map: every POI, what changed, where to land

Chapter 7 Season 4 “Override” launched August 20, 2026 (v42.00) and rebuilt the center of the Chapter 7 island: The Spire now stands where The Zero Point was, Green Hill Zone, Reality's Reign, and Stone Sanctum are new, Calamari Canyon, Frosted Flats, and Sinister Strip are gone, and ten named POIs carry over unchanged.

The short version

Same Chapter 7 island, new heart. 3 new POIs (Green Hill Zone, Reality's Reign, Stone Sanctum), 3 removed (Calamari Canyon, Frosted Flats, Sinister Strip), 10 carried over, and The Spire replacing The Zero Point at the center. Day-1 consensus makes Green Hill Zone the hottest drop; the first Override tournament data arrives Aug 23.

What's new on the Override map?

Three new POIs — Green Hill Zone, Reality's Reign, and Stone Sanctum — plus two new landmarks: The Spire, standing where The Zero Point was, and Pac-Man Island. The rebuild is concentrated in the island's center; the coastline and most of the map carry over from last season.

Green Hill Zone is the launch-day magnet — the day-1 analyst consensus (Aug 20) has it as the most contested drop on the island. Reality's Reign and Stone Sanctum are still settling: with no tournament film yet, any loot-route or contest read on them is opinion, and this page labels it as such until the replays say otherwise.

Which POIs were removed?

Three: Calamari Canyon, Frosted Flats, and Sinister Strip. That list matters more than it looks — Frosted Flats and Sinister Strip were two of last season's four biggest endgame anchors, hosting 4 of 24 FNCS Major 2 Grand Finals endgames each in our replay parses. Every duo that built its season around those addresses is house-hunting this week.

The Zero Point is also gone as a landmark, replaced by The Spire — a center-map rebuild rather than a removal, but it changes mid-game rotations through the island's core all the same.

Where should you land in Override?

Honest answer: on day one, nobody has data — including us. The day-1 consensus pick is Green Hill Zone if you want fights, and the carried POIs are the evidence-backed lane: their layouts, loot, and positions are unchanged, so last season's film still reads true there. The Battlewoods was the storm's favorite neighborhood in Season 41 — nearest POI to 9 of 24 Grand Finals endgames, with the island's cheapest average rotation to the final circle (0.56 km) — and until Override's zones prove otherwise, that history is the best prior on the board.

According to eliteesports.gg replay data across 61 professional games last season — 6,015 tracked drops, validated on a 1,182-drop holdout with a median landing-time error of 0.81 seconds — where you leave the bus is the single most controllable cost in your game. That model is exactly what gets refit for Override the moment pro film exists: the first Override replays land Aug 23 (Performance Evaluation), with Practice Cups Aug 25 and 29 behind them. Full dates on the schedule.

Is the drop calculator updated for Override?

The free Elite drop calculator is in gathering-data mode for Override. It is built from parsed professional tournament replays, and Override has none yet — so rather than dress last season's numbers up as this season's, it shows the new map and waits for real film. The model refits as the Aug 23+ events land. Until then, the VOD Review film room holds the Season 41 archive — still the best study tape for the ten carried POIs.

Override map FAQ

What's new on the Override map?

Three new POIs — Green Hill Zone, Reality's Reign, and Stone Sanctum — plus two new landmarks: The Spire, which now stands where The Zero Point was, and Pac-Man Island. The rest of the Chapter 7 island carries over; the rebuild is concentrated in the center.

Which POIs were removed in Override?

Three: Calamari Canyon, Frosted Flats, and Sinister Strip. Frosted Flats and Sinister Strip were two of last season's four biggest endgame anchors — they hosted 4 of 24 FNCS Major 2 Grand Finals endgames each — so their removal redraws competitive rotation math, not just the map art.

Where should you land in Override?

Day one, there is no tournament data yet — first Override pro replays arrive Aug 23. The day-1 analyst consensus (Aug 20) makes Green Hill Zone the hottest, most contested drop. For quieter, evidence-backed picks, the ten carried POIs keep their Season 41 logic: The Battlewoods was the storm's favorite endgame neighborhood last season, and that film still applies until Override data replaces it.

Is the drop calculator updated for Override?

It is in gathering-data mode. The Elite drop calculator is built from parsed professional tournament replays, and Override has none yet — the first Override events run Aug 23 (Performance Evaluation) with Practice Cups Aug 25 and 29. The model refits as that film lands; until then it shows the map without asserting numbers it cannot back.

Method & sources: POI lists verified in-game on patch v42.00 (Aug 20, 2026) against the Season 41 map index. Day-1 heat labels are labeled analyst consensus. Season 41 statistics come from Elite's own parses of Epic's server-side tournament replays (61 pro games, 6,015 drops), verified against official leaderboards.
